One of the most controversial yet watched drama came to an end last night. We all were watching Baaghis last episode even though there wasn’t any hint of suspense. The last episode’s teaser gave away too much outlook into the obvious. After all, it was a documentary.
What was Baaghi about
Baaghi was a biographical documentary on Qandeel Baloch– Pakistan’s facebook sensation; a daring girl who broke Pakistan’s religious and cultural boundaries by storm with her immodest dressing and outspoken statements. Qandeel Baloch wasn’t a typical conservative girl but was the symbol of honor killing.
Baaghi was the first Pakistani drama I followed intently as it meant something to me as a woman. It represented the harsh reality of a woman’s life; sacrificing their dreams and maintaining the family’s honor. Our country has lost a lot of girls in the name of a Pakistani man’s so-called ego and honor.
There were some controversies before its last episode. Her father, Azeem claimed that he wasnt asked for permission to run a documentary on her daughter. However Saba Qamar, the lead protagonist cleared all the issues out on her Instagram page.

Today is the last episode of BAAGHI but before i write further i would like to clarify few things..in response to some FALSE rumours on fb/social media. First of all i would like to Thank all my viewers and people associated to the success of the esteemed project. Just to clarify 1. We had taken PROPER PERMISSION for the DRAMA SERIAL from the parents, despite the fact that there were only few incidents that were taken from Qandeel s life. 2. The permission was in Urdu so everyone could understand. 3.It was signed by them, they asked for a certain amount in return to which we happily agreed as we in any case wanted to give compensation. I am shocked to see such baseless rumours being spread by someone who has no basis for this. All the information that is being falsely spread is WRONG and BASELESS. it would be nice if people can have their facts checked before making baseless allegations. We understand that it is a sensitive subject and we have handled it in a responsible manner. #sabaqamar @ninakashif @urdu1tv @baaghi_official #shaziakhan #umeraahmed @rind_farooq @zainablakhani
Baaghis Last Episode
Baaghis last episode staged the cruel, last moments of her life. Her honor killing was justified by the lack of remorse her brothers showed and they forgave her murderer for such an irrevocable sin. Even though the episode couldn’t match the much-created hypes, it did once again leave an unanswered question at the end just like Bol did. Did her murder fulfill the dream of a virtuous society? Is the society now clean of the shameless acts? The opportunity to become better and to live a different life wasnt given to her.
Baaghi revealed an entirely new character behind her image. Her caring and loving nature with her bold attributes. Forced to be Qandeel Baloch from Fouzia Batool, in spite of her help and support, she was still not given the respect she deserved from her parents. Qandeels family didnt know of her doings still didn’t think she was powerful enough and she was constantly suspected just because she was a girl. And isn’t that what all girls do?
